Well, I don’t rightly know how to put it, but I reckon I got a few words to say ’bout my son today. Y’all know him, he’s been the apple of my eye ever since he was a little baby. Ain’t no greater joy than watchin’ your boy grow up and turn into the man he is now. Time sure does fly, don’t it? Seems like just yesterday I was holdin’ him in my arms, and now here he is, standin’ at the altar with the love of his life.
I remember when he was just a small one, always runnin’ ’round, gettin’ into trouble, but also always bringin’ joy to everyone he met. He worked hard, learned right from wrong, and grew into a fine young man. I couldn’t be prouder of the man he’s become today. He’s always been a good son, always looked after me, and I know he’ll take good care of his new wife, too.
Now, talkin’ ’bout this beautiful young woman sittin’ here next to him, well, I gotta say, when we first met [Bride], I just knew. There was somethin’ ’bout her. A kindness in her eyes, and a heart full of love. I seen how she looked at my boy, and I could tell, right then and there, she was the one for him. She makes him so happy, and that’s all a mother could ask for. You see, the way a man treats his mama is a good sign of how he’ll treat his lady, and I’ve always seen how [Groom] treats [Bride]—with respect, love, and care.
So, I want to take a moment to say thank you, [Bride], for lovin’ my son the way you do. You’ve brought a light into his life that I couldn’t be more grateful for. I’m glad y’all found each other. Ain’t nothin’ better than seein’ your child happy, and I can see that in both of you today. I know you’ll make each other happy, and I’ll be here for both of you, always.
As I stand here today, I can’t help but feel a little bittersweet, too. My boy’s all grown up, and though I’ll miss him when he’s off buildin’ his own life, I’m also proud to see him start this new chapter with [Bride]. I’m wishin’ y’all a life full of love, laughter, and blessings. May you always find joy in each other’s company, no matter what life brings your way.
To my son and my new daughter, I raise a glass to y’all. Here’s to a long, happy life together, full of all the good things this world has to offer. I love you both with all my heart, and I couldn’t be happier for you today.
