Hey everyone, so today I want to talk about something that’s really been on my mind lately – making baby’s breath bridesmaid bouquets. I mean, who doesn’t love baby’s breath, right? It’s just so pretty and delicate. I had to make some for my friend’s wedding last weekend, and let me tell you, it was quite the experience!

Cheap and Chic: Babys Breath Bridesmaid Bouquets on a Budget

First off, I went to the local flower market. I wanted to get the freshest baby’s breath I could find. And oh boy, the market was a dream! Rows and rows of flowers, but I had my eyes on those fluffy white clouds of baby’s breath. I picked out the fullest, healthiest-looking bunches. They were just so cute.

Then, I got all my supplies ready. I laid out some floral tape, some nice ribbon I found that matched the wedding colors, some scissors, and of course, the star of the show – the baby’s breath. I felt like a real florist, even though I was just doing this in my little kitchen.

Getting Started

I started by cleaning the stems. I snipped off all the leaves from the lower part of the stems. You don’t want those leaves getting in the way. And then, I trimmed the stems to roughly the same length. This took longer than I thought because the flowers were being fussy.

  • Gather your baby’s breath and separate the stems.
  • Remove leaves from the lower part of the stems.
  • Trim the stems to your desired length.

Putting It Together

Next, I began arranging the flowers. I took a few stems and held them together, kind of fluffing them out a bit. Then I added more stems, little by little, rotating the bouquet as I went. It was like building a little cloud in my hands. It’s not rocket science, I just went with what felt right, you know?

Once I was happy with the size and shape, I secured the stems with floral tape. I wrapped it tightly around the stems, starting from the top and working my way down. This part was a little tricky because you have to keep the flowers nice and tight. Finally, I wrapped the stems with that pretty ribbon, tied a nice bow, and trimmed the ends.

I made six of these bouquets in total, and I have to say, they turned out pretty darn good! I was a bit nervous at first, not gonna lie. But I took my time, and it all worked out. The bridesmaids loved them, and they looked so beautiful with their dresses. I saw them holding their bouquets, and I was like, “Hey, I made those!” It was a good feeling. It’s pretty neat what you can do with a little bit of time and a whole lot of baby’s breath.

So yeah, that’s my little adventure with making baby’s breath bouquets. It was a lot of fun, and I’m actually thinking about doing it again sometime. Maybe I’ll try different flowers next time. We’ll see! I just wanted to share this with you all. It’s not as hard as it looks, and it’s a really sweet and personal touch for any wedding.
