Okay, so, I recently had to help my best friend plan her wedding, and let me tell you, the whole bridesmaid and groomsmen entrance thing was a real head-scratcher at first. But we figured it out, and it turned out to be super fun. We wanted something memorable, something that reflected their personalities, and also something that would get everyone hyped up for the party.
First, we sat down and brainstormed. We knew we wanted to do something more than just having them walk in. I mean, we want to make the day extra special for all the guests, right? We wanted to get all the guests involved somehow. So, we started thinking about what kind of vibe we wanted to create. Were we going for elegant and classic? Fun and quirky? Or something totally out there? The bride and groom are both big music lovers, so we thought about incorporating that somehow.
Finding the Right Music
We spent hours listening to different songs, trying to find the perfect one that would set the tone. I mean, you gotta have a tune that gets people moving. We played around with a bunch of different ideas, everything from classic stuff like Kenny Loggins to newer songs like “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon. We wanted the entrance to be the perfect length—not too long that it gets boring, but not too short that it feels rushed. In the end, we picked a song that was about 2 minutes long.
Choreographing the Entrance
Then came the fun part – figuring out how they were actually going to enter. We toyed with a few ideas. We thought about having the groomsmen come in first, maybe doing a little coordinated walk around the sides before taking their places. Then the bridesmaids could make their grand entrance, one by one. Or maybe they could all come in together? We were thinking, how can we really get the party started?
- The Classic Entrance: We practiced having the groomsmen walk in first, then the bridesmaids. It was simple, but a bit too traditional for their taste.
- The Dance-In: We tried having them all dance in together. We thought about doing a mini flash mob, but coordinating that with all the guests seemed like a logistical nightmare. Plus, not everyone’s a dancer.
- The Surprise Element: We also considered having them enter from different parts of the venue, surprising the guests. But the venue was pretty standard, so that didn’t quite work out.
Then, we had a lightbulb moment! We decided to combine a few of these ideas. We went with a semi-coordinated dance routine, but nothing too complicated. Just a few simple moves that everyone could learn quickly. And to make it extra special, we gave them props – like, the groomsmen had sunglasses, and the bridesmaids had these fun, colorful scarves.
Finally, the big day arrived, and it was showtime! I’ll never forget the energy in the room when the music started. All the guests were surprised and started talking about how we pulled it off. It was a hit! It was the perfect way to kick off the celebration, and it really set the tone for the rest of the night. Everyone was laughing, cheering, and ready to party. And most importantly, the bride and groom loved it! They said it was one of their favorite parts of the whole wedding. So, yeah, planning the bridesmaid and groomsmen entrance took some effort, but it was totally worth it. We created a moment that was fun, memorable, and unique to them.
