Well now, I gotta tell ya, this day sure means a lot to me. Seeing my boy, my sweet son, all grown up and standing there with the woman he’s chosen to share his life with. Lord, where did the time go? It seems like just yesterday he was runnin’ around the house, all messy and wild, and now look at him—standing tall, ready to start a whole new chapter with his lovely bride.
First thing I want to say is, thank ya, dear, for loving my son so much. You’ve brought so much joy to his life, and I can see it in his eyes every time he looks at ya. It warms this old heart of mine. You’ve taken care of him in ways I couldn’t have even imagined. And, as his mama, that’s all I could ever ask for. A woman who’s gonna be there, through thick and thin, to love and care for him, just like I’ve always done. But, in your own special way.
Now, y’all know a mama’s love for her boy is something deep. Ain’t no way around it. It’s the kind of love that don’t go away, even when he grows up and moves out. And let me tell ya, I couldn’t be prouder of the man he’s turned out to be. I raised him to be kind, honest, and hardworking—and I see all of that in him today. I know you’ll see it too, darlin’, as y’all build your life together.
And while I’m on the subject, I reckon there’s a few things I want to say to my boy. You’ve always been a good boy, and you’ve always had a big heart. Now, as you take on this new journey with your beautiful bride, I want you to remember some things. First, you gotta be patient. Ain’t no relationship perfect, and y’all will have your ups and downs. But if you stay kind and patient with each other, you’ll make it through anything. And second, never stop laughing. Life is tough sometimes, but a good laugh will always make things feel a little lighter.
To my new daughter-in-law, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being the woman you are. You’ve made my son the happiest I’ve ever seen him, and that means everything to me. I’ve watched you two together, and I can see the love between you, plain as day. There’s something so beautiful about watching two people come together, not just because they love each other, but because they also want to support and build something strong together.
As y’all move forward, I hope you both remember that love is not just something you feel. It’s something you do. It’s in the little things, the way you support each other’s dreams, and how you care for one another on the hard days. I know my son, and I know you, and I know you both have what it takes to make a wonderful life together.
And so, as I stand here today, I just want to leave you both with one last piece of advice: love each other with all your heart. Always be there for each other. And never forget to appreciate the little things—like holding hands on a quiet evening or sharing a laugh over something silly. It’s those little moments that’ll make your life rich, I promise you that.
So, here’s to a long, happy marriage, full of love, laughter, and all the good things life has to offer. I couldn’t be happier to welcome you, my dear, into our family. Now, let’s all raise a glass to these two and wish them a lifetime of happiness!
