Well, hello there, everyone! Gather ’round, gather ’round, lemme tell ya somethin’ ’bout this here weddin’ business. My boy, my precious boy, he’s gone and got himself hitched! And lemme tell ya, seein’ him up there, all spiffed up, made this old heart swell right up like a balloon.
Now, they asked me to say a few words, bein’ the mother of the groom and all. And I ain’t no fancy talker, mind you. I’m just a plain ol’ woman, but I know love when I see it. And I see it shinin’ brighter than the sun between them two.
First off, I gotta say somethin’ about my boy. He weren’t always easy, that one. Remember that time he tried to ride the pig like a horse? Ended up with more mud than sense, that’s for sure. But he always had a good heart, a heart as big as this here room. And he’s grown into a fine young man, a man any mother would be proud of.
- He’s kind
- He’s hardworking
- And he loves his new wife somethin’ fierce.
And speakin’ of his wife… Well, she’s somethin’ special, ain’t she? When he first brought her home, I was a little… well, let’s just say I was watchin’ her close. But it didn’t take long for me to see why he loves her so much. She’s got a smile that could light up a room, a laugh that’s contagious, and a way of makin’ him happy that I ain’t never seen before.
She treats him right, that’s for sure. She encourages him, supports him, and loves him for who he is, mud and all. And for that, I am eternally grateful. She’s a blessin’, pure and simple. She’s already like a daughter to me.
Now, marriage ain’t always sunshine and roses, y’all know that. There’ll be storms, there’ll be rough patches. But if they hold on tight to each other, if they remember the love that brought them together, they can weather anything.
And that’s my advice to them: Always remember to laugh, always remember to listen, and always remember to love. Love ain’t just a feelin’, it’s a choice you make every single day. And I know they’ll keep choosin’ each other, through thick and thin.
I remember when my husband and I, well, we had our share of troubles too. We weren’t always seein’ eye to eye, you know? But we stuck it out. We worked through it. And look at us now, old and grey, still holdin’ hands. That’s what love does, it endures.
So, here’s to my boy and his beautiful bride. May their life together be filled with joy, with laughter, with love that grows stronger with each passing year. And may they always remember that they have a whole lotta folks who love ’em and support ’em, every step of the way.
Let’s raise a glass, shall we? To the happy couple! May their love story be a long and happy one, filled with all the good things life has to offer.
And remember, kids, be good to each other. That’s all that really matters in the end. Be kind, be patient, and always, always, be there for each other. That’s the secret to a happy marriage, if you ask me.
And one last thing… don’t forget to visit your old mother once in a while! I’ll always have a warm meal and a hug waitin’ for ya. Now, let’s get this party started!
