Sample Letter From Grooms Parents to Brides Parents: Dos and Donts

Alright, so you wanna write a letter from the groom’s folks to the bride’s folks, huh? It ain’t rocket science, let me tell ya. Just gotta be real and say what’s in your heart, simple as that.

First off, you gotta start with a “Dear” somethin’ or other. Like, “Dear Mr. and Mrs. [Bride’s Last Name],” that’s polite, see? Then, ya gotta thank ’em. Thank ’em for raisin’ such a fine gal, the one your boy’s gonna marry. Say somethin’ like, “Thank ya kindly for bringin’ [Bride’s Name] into this world. She’s a real gem, and we’re lucky to have her join our family.” Keep it short and sweet, no need for fancy words.

Then, you might wanna say somethin’ about how happy you are about the whole thing. Like, “We’re just tickled pink that [Groom’s Name] and [Bride’s Name] are gettin’ hitched. They make a fine pair, and we know they’ll be happy together.” You could mention somethin’ you like about the bride, ya know? Like, “We always knew [Groom’s Name] needed someone special, and [Bride’s Name] with her kind heart and bright smile is just perfect for him.” That kinda thing.

Important stuff, now, ya gotta make ’em feel welcome, like they’re part of the family now too. Say somethin’ like, “We’re lookin’ forward to sharin’ lots of happy times with you all. Holidays, birthdays, maybe even grandkids someday, who knows!” Don’t go overboard, but let ’em know you’re happy to have ’em.

  • You could tell a little story, if ya want. Like, “We remember the first time [Groom’s Name] brought [Bride’s Name] home. He was nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof, but she just smiled and charmed us all right away.” Somethin’ like that. Makes it personal, see?
  • And don’t forget to say somethin’ nice about how they raised their daughter. “You did a fine job raisin’ [Bride’s Name], she’s a real credit to you”. Parents like hearin’ that.
  • You could mention somethin’ about the wedding, too. Like, “We’re so excited for the wedding, it’s gonna be a beautiful day.” Or, if you’re helpin’ pay, ya might say, “We’re happy to pitch in and make this day special for ‘em.” Just somethin’ to show you’re lookin’ forward to it.

Now, at the end, ya gotta close it out nice. Say somethin’ like, “With love and best wishes,” or “Warmly,” somethin’ like that. And then sign your names, like “Mr. and Mrs. [Groom’s Last Name]”. Simple, right?

Remember, it ain’t gotta be perfect. Just speak from the heart, that’s all that matters. They ain’t lookin’ for no fancy words, just want to know you’re happy for their daughter and your son. And that you’re gonna treat her right, that’s important. So, be yourself, be genuine, and you’ll do just fine.

And if you wanna add a little somethin’ extra, you could say somethin’ like, “We’re so proud to call [Bride’s Name] our daughter-in-law now.” That’ll make ‘em feel real good, I tell ya. Makin’ folks feel welcome, that’s the key, ya see. Makes everything smoother, especially when you’re all gonna be family.

So there ya have it. Nothin’ to it. Just be yourself, be kind, and you’ll write a letter they’ll appreciate. And don’t forget, a little handwritten note goes a long way these days. Shows you took the time and put in the effort, ya know?

Lastly, if you’ve got a good memory or two of the bride and groom together, don’t be shy to share. Something like, “Remember that time they [insert cute anecdote here]? We knew right then they were meant to be.” It adds a personal touch and shows you’ve been paying attention to their relationship. It’s all about making connections and showing your support.
