Well, let me tell ya about these wedding gowns, the ones they wear over in Taiwan. Don’t know much about fancy stuff, but I reckon a wedding’s a big deal, no matter where you are. Them dresses, they ain’t just any old clothes, ya know?
Now, from what I hear, some of them gowns are white, like you’d expect. Big and fluffy, makes a girl look like a cloud. But then they got these other ones, red as a rooster’s comb. Fancy, they say, with all sorts of patterns and whatnot. Silk, maybe? Or somethin’ shiny like that. Always wondered how they keep them things clean.
Heard tell they put all sorts of doodads on them too. Flowers, beads, maybe even gold thread if you’re lucky. Takes a lot of work, I bet. Some old lady sittin’ there sewin’ and sewin’ till her fingers hurt. All for a dress you wear once. Seems a shame, don’t it?
But I guess that’s tradition.
Now, over in Taiwan, seems like they like to mix things up a bit. You got the white gowns, like I said, but then you got them red ones too. And sometimes, they mix and match! White dress with red trim, or somethin’ like that. Keeps things interestin’, I suppose.
- White gowns – like a princess, they say.
- Red gowns – lucky, for happiness and all that.
- Mix and match – for the modern gals, I reckon.
Don’t matter much to me, what color it is. Long as the girl’s happy, that’s the main thing. But I gotta say, some of them dresses are somethin’ else. All that fabric, all that detail. Must weigh a ton!
And the hair! Don’t even get me started on the hair. They got these fancy hair vines and whatnot. Makes a girl look all regal, like a queen or somethin’. Probably takes hours to get all that stuff in place. And a whole lotta hairspray, I bet. Wouldn’t wanna be standin’ too close to a candle, that’s for sure.
Now, where do they get these dresses, you ask? Well, I hear tell there’s places in Taipei, big shops with racks and racks of gowns. And factories too, over in China and Taiwan, makin’ these dresses all day long. Hard work, I imagine. All that cuttin’ and sewin’, gotta be tough on the hands.
And then there’s the websites. Folks these days, they do everything online. Can probably order a wedding gown just like you’d order a loaf of bread. Times are changin’, ain’t they? Makes an old lady’s head spin.
But tradition’s tradition, like I said. And a wedding’s a special day, no matter where you are. So if a girl wants to wear a big white gown, or a fancy red one, that’s her business. Long as she’s happy, that’s all that matters.
So there you have it. My two cents on them Taiwan wedding gowns. Not that I know much, mind you. Just an old lady talkin’. But a wedding’s a wedding, wherever you are. And a pretty dress is a pretty dress, no matter the color.
