Well, you know, when them girls, what do you call ’em, bridesmaids, yeah, when they walk down, you gotta have some music. Can’t just be quiet, right? Like when you go to the store, they got music. Wedding’s more important than the store, ain’t it?
So, you gotta pick somethin’ nice. Somethin’ happy. Not sad, no sir. Weddings are happy. My niece, she got married, and they played some song… can’t remember the name. Sounded like… well, it sounded nice. Made everyone smile. That’s what you want. Smiles.
Them girls, they dress up all pretty. Like dolls. They walk slow, you know? Got to give everyone time to look. And the music, it helps them walk slow. Keeps ’em in step. Like when you’re hummin’ while you’re sweepin’. Keeps you goin’.
What kinda songs?
- Somethin’ about love. Weddings are about love, right? Duh. Like that song, “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” Elvis, yeah, that’s the guy. He sings good. My husband, he liked Elvis.
- Or somethin’ happy. Like that song, “Walking on Sunshine.” Makes you wanna dance. Even my old knees wanna dance when I hear that one. But don’t tell no one I said that.
- Maybe somethin’ pretty. Like, you know, violins or somethin’. My grandma, she loved violins. Said they sounded like angels. Don’t know about angels, but they sound nice.
You gotta think about the girls, too. What do they like? My granddaughter, she likes that pop music. All that thump thump thump. Not for me, but, you know, it’s her wedding, her choice. If them girls like the thump thump, give ’em the thump thump.
Just don’t play nothin’ sad. No break up songs. No cryin’ songs. This ain’t a funeral. It’s a party! A happy party. With cake. And flowers. And pretty dresses. And happy music.
You can ask the girls, too. What songs they like. They might have some good ideas. They’re young. They know what’s what. Maybe they heard a song on that… what do you call it… FaceTube? Or InstaSnap? Somethin’ like that. They’re always on them things.
And don’t forget to practice. Them girls gotta walk to the music. Not too fast, not too slow. Just right. Like Goldilocks. Remember that story? Just right.
So, yeah, pick some nice music. Happy music. Love music. Music that makes you smile. Music that makes them girls shine. It’s their special day too, you know. They’re standin’ up for their friend. That’s important. They deserve some good music.
And when the music starts, and them girls walk down, you’ll know you picked the right songs. You’ll see the smiles. You’ll feel the love. And you’ll be happy. That’s what weddings are all about. Happiness.
